What information do you need to calculate my astrology chart?
Carey needs three things.
Date of your birth. For example, February 12, 1993
Place of your birth. For example, Seattle, Washington
Time of birth. For example, 14:20 (24 hr time) or 2:20 PM
(Don't forget the AM/PM if you select 12 hr time!)
What if I know only my date and place of birth?
If you only know the date and place, don't worry. A solar chart placing the
sun on the ascendant or first house is mighty accurate too. Using all the
positions of your planets and the signs and houses in this solar chart can
reveal an accurate portrait of who you are?
Where can I find these three pieces of data?
Birth Certificate, although not all list all three.
Hospital records department where you were born.
Bureau of Vital Statistics
Family Bible
Mom's Memory.(usually your mom knows more about this).
I already know my sun sign. Isn't that astrology?
Yes, the very beginnings of understanding your astrology chart. It would be like if you said, I saw her/his green pea coat; don't I already know the person now. Knowing a person Sun sign is like knowing the cover of a book. But we should be careful about given final judgements based on book covers.
Is astrology a science?
Scientist disagree. Isaac Newton used astrology and encounter people who didn't believe. Usually those people who do not believe or use astrology or disregard it, HAVE NEVER STUDIED ASTROLOGY. I have studied astrology. What I've noticed over the years is, given the correct date of birth, time of birth, place of birth, any three or more astrologer could come to the same general conclusions as to the person's career, marriage and in some cases physical descriptions. I've had my chart done several times by people from diverse places and they came to the same conclusion. Astrology is nearly perfect but unfortunately astrologers are not perfect! This is important to remember. The stars reflect what the astrologer's talent, skill and practice reveal to her or him. Someone who is prejudice would hardly be qualified to read the chart of a slave with impartiality. However another slave astrologer would state the slave's brilliant skill and talent without feeling threatened.
Astrology conclusions are general and fit everyone is this true?
Sun sign astrology conclusions are general. If one only, only considers the sun, one planet and avoids the solar chart houses and leaves out of Mars, Mercury, Venus, Uranus (ur-a-nus), Pluto, Saturn, Neptune, Moon, sure you get general conclusions.
George Hegel, a German Philosopher, however said, to generalize is to philosophize. So one needs to be very careful about the value or practical usefulness of information. Just knowing that I am a Libra Sun sign tells you a lot about me or any other Libra person, male of female. Libras like equality, balance, art, and are intellectual in nature. They do tend to love a debate.
My mom and dad have known me all my life. Why do I need an astrology chart opinion of myself?
No one needs an astrology chart, a degree from a university or anything else if they don't want it. Astrology is another look at who your are. I believe astrology has been put here by the Goddess/Gods as a sign and hint to further our self understanding and growth. The old saying: As above; so below reflects this.
If life is about growth, as I believe. And growth is about gathering further knowledge of yourself, your drives, talents, skills, even weaknesses, shouldn't you want to find those things out. Are you worth finding out about, besides accepting the opinion of your parents, mom and dad? Let's suppose your parents are perfect or if not perfect, good parents. Does that mean you should only listen to their opinions? Does it mean they will honestly tell you in an objective fashion who you are and your talents and skills. Could it be your a product in the making to your parents? Thus they are seeking to find out who you are and waiting for you to reveal who your are. Education, hobbies, sports, all these things help us become us. But astrology can tell you some of those things right now, before you encounter them in life circumstances. Isn't it worth an effort?
My religion tells me astrology works through the devil or spirits?
Astrology doesn't work through spirits. Astrology is more like a computer keyboard and monitor and hard drive. If you know that pressing the keyboard produces text, you accept that. We know from from over 6,000 years of experience, astrology planet Mars symbolizes energy. Things move fast under Mar's influence. If Mars is in the person's fifth house of romance, they want to start dating immediately. These Mars in the fifth house people make the first moves, even if a female.
The planets meanings are practical and logical. Venus is love. Saturn is practicality. Uranus is originality. Any six year old, given the historical meaning of the planets and houses and signs and planet aspects can read a chart accurately.
As to religion, religions say many things. Usually religion say these things because they want to limit the influence of outside forces and beliefs. If one is say an Israelite in Egypt; they might want to eliminate astrology because why would Egyptian astrologer tell the truth to Israelite slaves?
Most religions are against worshiping astrology. Most religions are also against worshipping any-particular thing whether it is computer games, money, clothes, sex, education, honors, position, friends. The problem with astrology is the same problem you will have with anything else. If you cannot see other truths because one of these other things (attachments, they call them in the Eastern Religions/Philosophies) then you will hurt yourself. Newspapers are an example. If you believe, accept, worship anything said in newspapers forgetting they are written by people, people with various agendas, goal, hidden purposes even, you will be mislead.
My religion, I'm a mystic. I've studied all the religions out there and ancient ones. My religion lets me use astrology as a tool, like I would use the computer as a tool. Like I would use clothes or money as a tool. I firmly believe in my Goddess. Again, if astrology were totally perfect, I I would know everything in my future perfectly. Of course, as said above this requires a particularly special astrologer, one I don't think exist. Let me say my Goddess is a perfect astrologer. Truth can be found anywhere. Use whatever tools you want. Don't become over attached to anything.
Why should I order an astrology chart?
Three main reasons:
1. To Know Thyself. To Grow and learn who you are. Knowing who
you are gives you an upper hand in making choices.
2. Because learning about yourself is fun.
3. Because you are worth learning about. Most people underestimate their potential. They believe what's achieveable is what someone in their family has achieved. This is great if you have a family members who have succeeded in career fields you aspire to as well. However, what if no one in your family has ever considered being an archeologist or museum director or a song writer? Hopefully they would be encouraging. Wouldn't it be positive to know you have the talent for these fields, even if no one around you has a career in them? Other's have succeeded and even created field, no one would have imagined. Website designer? Computer designer?
Most people change their college majors at least three times because they don't know for sure what they want to be when they grow up. Most people who obtain a degree end up working in fields as far away as the moon from their college degree. Let astrology suggests your career strengths. Make life easier on yourself.
Astrologer's are atheist and don't believe in God?
Astrologers are many things like any other group dedicated to their field, be they teachers, engineers, social scientist, parents or business people.
One things astrologer do accept is the symbolism. Jupiter is said to rule over philosophy, religion, and organized spirituality -- aka the Goddess/Gods. Neptune rules of mystical religions, the unification of all things which is religious in nature. Neptune rules over the intuition, dreams and spirituality that is not so codified -- aka the Goddess/Gods.
Astrology is fatalism. It's saying you have no choice.
Is knowing you have blonde hair or have a tendency to like music more than sports fate? Fate restricts choices. Astrology interpretation gives you a greater number of skill set choices and self-awareness choices about your emotional, spiritual, physical and intellectual nature.
Either-Or thinking is fatalism. When someone tells you, you either like blacks or you like whites? You're a girl so you have to be a homemaker or a teacher? Anything that says you have no choice or only one choice or just two choices is fatalism.
Astrology is a system of choices the client must choose from. To tell someone very short they cannot do sports if fatalism. If a boy wants to participate in sports, sure basketball might be out, but swimming, ballet, horse race jockeying, ping pong are valid choices. The astrologer would look at the sports where height requirements do not eliminate the client's participation and see which sport he has more talent in.
Astrology presents the client with a range of skill sets for a career in say mechanical sciences. Perhaps the girl/boy can be a mechanic or a plumber or a construction worker or a computer technician or a cable installation tech. All still within the mechanical sciences. The client would then have to decide between these choices where they are blessed with skill and ability to earn money. The client might also have skills in intellectual work like as an professor, accounting or lawyer. Again, the client would have to choose. So astrology gives you more choices than you originally thought you had in terms of career, money, spirituality, love and so forth..
I believe human nature can't be change, so what the use of astrology?
Human nature is complicated, but I think of it like this. "Changing" human nature is not the right questions. John Dewey, a philosopher, said, "We get different answers when we asks different questions; questions closer to how we can actually do something about our life problems in a practical way.
We don't have to "Change" our human nature, merely "Control" our human nature.
Astrology self-knowledge is in the forefront of helping us "Control" our human nature. In fact, self-growth is learning to "Control" our reactions to circumstances in our life.
I was told not to know the future, to only worry about today?
There are two branches of astrology predictive/future side and the natal/birth potential side.
The natal/birth side tells you your innate skill and talents, and weaknesses. Knowing your weakness for say being lazy or not finishing things can be a great thing for the growing student during their K-12 years. Knowing your strengths say for math or language can help you choose classes you know you'll get a scholarship in. All education is helping you in the future. You wouldn't stop going to school because it can help you know what you want to be when you grow up? You wouldn't want to avoid knowing yourself through astrology either.
The predictive/future side is based in the natal/birth side. If you have no math skill and try to get job as a CPA (accounting), you'll only be frustrating yourself. Or you'll have to say, I've no talent in this CPA stuff. I have to work extra hard. Or you'll have to hire a tutor for yourself in school and college.
The predictive/future side deals with things like will I get this job; should I change jobs, what kinds of job is easier for me to get this year. These are purely predictive based on what you've done in the past. If you don't put in any application, how can you expect to get a job? This future side of astrology is like weather forecasting or planning your future classes. You don't stop reading the papers because it tells you ipods and in and more people will be doing computer work on transportable technologies? It's the same with astrology. You take the future/predictive readings with a grain of salt. Remember you're always in the driver's seat to do or not make certain choices.
Is it true that people go whacky on the Full Moon?
Hospitals have noticed for decades more injuries, fights, disruptions and wild events happen around the two days prior to the full moon and on the full moon. But using science and choice, why don't you do an experiment?

I heard there are three basic astrology charts, natal charts, solar charts and predictive charts. Is this true?
There are several branches of astrology charts.
Electional charts deal with the best time to open say a fashion boutique or restaurant.
Horary charts deal with answering simple questions about events in a clients life. Like where did I misplace my keys?
Weather charts deal with weather astrology forecasting.
Composite charts are a fusion of two people into one. Fascinating!
Solar Return charts deal with the future/predictive planetary movement charts.
TimeLine Reports deal with future/predictive trainsit listing of planetary movements.
Relationship charts are two natal charts matched together to see how the couple or partners relate (not a fusion, a one person influences the other chart)..
Solar Chart (untimed natal chart) where the birth sun in put on the ascendant or first house. All the person's other natal planets are put in their correct signs and houses. This is commonly called a sunrise chart or a non-timed chart.
Mundane astrology charts are country or nation charts.

A personalized chart has more integration between the planetary, house and sign and aspect information. Because a person has to personally look at every planet, house, sign, aspect and how they related and combine or do not combine, this report takes more time to produce and hence cost more money. It is well worth the dollars though.
What is the difference between Sidereal Astrology and Tropical Astrology?
Keeping things very simple. The sun signs come from the animal zodiac in the sky. The planets are placed within certain animal signs. Sidereal astrology would correspond to what the astronomer sees when he looks in the sky at the exact time you were born. Sidereal astrology is used in India and Chinese astrology mostly. Because the procession of the equinoxes rolls backwards so many degrees every 2,000 years there is not a difference between Sidereal astrology and tropical astrology.
Some say the point is mute.
Tropical astrology will now have different astrological signs for your planets, say 1 sign backwards. Take my chart for instance. According to tropical astrology my sun is in Libra. According to sidereal astrology my sun is in Virgo.
What is the difference in the planet locations between the Sidereal and Tropical charts?
None. The planets will be in the same houses in sidereal and tropical astrology. The planets will usually be one sun sign backwards, but no more. For example if your

It's all a matter of perspectives. In terms of astrological importance, the planet strength is more important than the sign influence. Planet is the energy and the sign is the clothes of expression that energy will take. Mars is aggression, sex drive and mechanical skill. It will always represent that in the chart. But the outward expression of that skill in Gemini would lead to more writing, speaking and in Aquarius it might lead to inventing, associating with groups and computers tech skills. I use personally sidereal astrology but I tell people I'm born in Libra if we're talking sun sign stuff.

Someone told me astrology is a fast more efficient way to understand people, as a student psychologist I find this intriguing. Is it true?
Quite true. Carl Jung was an excellent astrologer. He used astrology in his practice all the time. I believe astrology like numerology and palmistry are tools left for us by the Goddess/Gods to provide us with greater understanding of our self and the world.
